    The Detroit Symphony Orchestra’s digital live album of Johannes Brahms’s four symphonies has topped the iTunes Classical Chart. As the second album on the orchestra’s in-house “Live From Orchestra Hall” label, the release is in celebration of the German composer’s 183rd birthday.

  • Violinist Nigel Kennedy Returns for Exclusive U.S. Performance with DSO

    Nigel Kennedy returns to the United States following an 18-year absence to perform exclusively with Maestro Slatkin and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. The program includes Schumann’s Manfred Overture and William Schuman’s third symphony, followed by Kennedy’s original Dedications series.

  • Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra to Perform Slatkin’s “Kinah”

    The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra announced that they will perform Leonard Slatkin’s composition Kinah on April 20 and April 22, 2017. Conductor Ward Stare will conduct the RPO in a program that opens with Slatkin’s elegy to his parents and closes with Mahler’s Symphony No. 5.
