Maestro Slatkin Conducts the “Resurrection” Symphony with Gustav Mahler’s Baton

In the fifth movement of Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, Maestro Slatkin conducted the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and Wayne State University Chorus using Gustav Mahler’s baton, a gift from esteemed scholar Gilbert Kaplan, whose multimedia lecture “The World of Mahler’s Second Symphony,” delivered by Heidi Bryson, preceded the concerts.
