DSO to Conclude Classical Season with Strauss’ “Salome”

jn_salome_lindstromThe Detroit Symphony Orchestra will wrap up the 2015-2016 classical season with a concert version of Richard Strauss’ opera Salome. Maestro Leonard Slatkin will lead the DSO alongside soprano Lise Lindstrom in her portrayal of the title character, as well as tenor Chris Merritt as Herod, mezzo-soprano Jane Henschel as Herodias, baritone Daniel Sutin as Jochanaan, and tenor Scott Ramsay as Narraboth. Performances will take place at Orchestra Hall on Friday, June 3 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, June 5 at 3 p.m.

DSO Assistant Conductor Michelle Merrill will give a pre-concert talk about the opera one hour prior to each performance.
